Recently, IPB University students filled in an Evaluation of the Teaching and Learning Process (also known as Evaluasi Proses Belajar Mengajar/EPBM) to measure the effectiveness of academic activities. The evaluation results were announced to the lecturers of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) IPB University during the “Kick-off Meeting: Socialization of the 2024/2025 Academic Year and Appreciation for the 2023/2024 Academic Year” by Prof. Ni Wayan Kurniani Karja, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. This event took place on July 31, 2024.

All students complete the EPBM twice each semester, before the mid-term exams (UTS) and before the final exams (UAS). Students not only provide assessments but also offer constructive suggestions to enhance the teaching and learning experience, covering both processes and facilities. These insights play a crucial role in improving the quality of education in the following semester.

The anonymity of the system ensures that students can freely share their opinions and suggestions through the EPBM. Based on the EPBM results, some student feedback includes:

  1. Students expressed satisfaction with the teaching process. Lecturers delivered lecture materials clearly.
  2. Students suggested updates for certain teaching materials.
  3. Students recommended aligning exam questions with the taught material.
  4. Students advised providing adequate deadlines for assignments.
  5. Students suggested allocating sufficient time for practical exams.
  6. Lecture material slides should be more comprehensive.
  7. The need for the use of English in each lecture material for international students.

All student feedback was informed to the course coordinators for future evaluation and improvement. SVMBS highly appreciates all student input and will use this feedback as a foundation to enhance the quality of learning in the upcoming academic year. (AP/DAR)
