ABSTRAK
Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen dan masalah-masalah pemeliharan kambing Cross Boer, mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan munculnya kebuntingan pada perkawinan alami dan inseminasi buatan, dan untuk mengetahui penampilan reproduksi kambing Cross Boer. Studi ini dilakukan pada bulan Nopember 2007 sampai Juli 2008, berdasarkan metode survei deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data primer melalui wawancara dari beberapa pekerja di PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa. Data lainnya diperoleh dari data yang telah ada di PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil studi menunjukan bahwa nilai Conseption Rate (CR) atau tingkat keberhasilan reproduksi dengan cara kawin alam lebih tinggi (83%) dibandingkan dengan cara Inseminasi Buatan (70%). Nilai Service per Conseption (S/C) pada kambing yang dikawinkan secara kawin alam sebesar 1,2 dan secara Inseminasi Buatan (IB) sebesar 1,4. Data tersebut menunjukan bahwa nilai S/C secara (IB) lebih tinggi dari kawin alam.

ABSTRACT
This case study aimed at knowing the management and problems that often in the maintenance of the Cross Boer goat, identify the level of the precnancy in the natural breeding and artificial insemination, and to know the appearance of the Cross Boer goat reproduction. This study was carried on November 2007 until July 2008, based on the method survey descriptive with the primary data collection through the interview from several staff in PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa. The other data was collect from the available data in PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa. The data that was received afterwards was analysed qualitatively. The observation showed that level success of the Conseption Rate value (CR) or the level success of the reproduction by means of being natural breeding was higher (83%) compared with the Artificial Insemination method (70%). The Service per Conseption (S/C) of natural breeding is 1,2 and the Artificial Insemination is 1,4. This data showed that S/C of Artificial Insemination is higher than Natural Breeding.
