SVMBS IPB University students become Student Ambassadors at the World Small Animal Veterinary Association

One of the students from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) IPB University has made a proud achievement. Adinda Rana Fauziah, a student of the Veterinary Education (VPE) Program batch 55, becomes Student Ambassador for Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee at WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association) 2022.

Rana, as she is affectionately called, is active in many activities, including TedXIPB, Assistant for Animal Anatomy Laboratory at SKHB IPB University, International Veterinary Students Association as Journal Creator for Standing Committee on animal Welfare, and AIESEC IPB as Quality Experience Team Leader of Outgoing Global Volunteer. Rana was also selected as an outstanding student at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (before changing to SVBS) in 2019.

In 2020, Rana worked closely with shelter veterinarians to write shelter management guidelines for Indonesia. This led her to volunteer at an animal shelter and start realizing her passion for improving animal welfare.

Since then, Rana has been actively exploring animal welfare issues and the complexities of handling them. Finally, Rana succeeded in realizing his dream of becoming a Student Ambassador for Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee at WSAVA (World Small Animal Veterinary Association).

”It’s all about the passion and putting yourself out there. Becoming a Student Ambassador really helps to improve animal welfare, and this is my passion,” said Rana further.

Rana said that being a Student Ambassador was a challenge as well as a feeling of joy when carrying out these activities. This is in line with his desire to improve animal welfare and health especially in cats and dogs.

“Shoot for your dreams, we will never know until we try it!”, Rana’s message was motivating. (n/km)
