ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to know the profile of calcium and phosphorus in blood of FH (Friesian Holstein) dairy cow during growth. Twenty five serum samples were collected from healthy dairy cows that divided into five groups. Each group consisted of five dairy cows are differentiated by age, one month, three months, six months, nine months, and twelve months. Blood sampels were taken from the jugular vein, calcium and phosporus of the serum were examined using spectrophotometry. The results showed levels of calcium in blood of dairy cow ranging from 7,5±0,38 to 8,7±0,07 mg/dl. The highest calcium of blood levels was obtained from dairy cows at age three months. Levels of phosphorus in blood of dairy cow ranging from 3,3±1,15 to 6,5±1,75 mg/dl. The highest of phosphorus blood levels was obtained from dairy cows at age six months. The lowest of calcium and phosphorus blood levels was obtained from dairy cows at age nine months.
