(Role of Staphylococcus aureus Haemaglutinin in Adhesion Process on Udder Epithelial Cells)

ABSTRAK
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan hemaglutinin pada Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) dalam proses adhesi. Uji adhesi pada sel epitel ambing dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Velentine-Weiggand. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa S. aureus yang memiliki hemaglutinin menunjukkan kemampuan adhesi yang jauh lebih baik (±380 bakteri/20 sel) dibandingkan dengan yang tidak memiliki hemaglutinin (±56 bakteri/20 sel).

ABSTRACT
The objective of this research is to study the role of hemaglutinin in Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) in the adhesion process. The adhesion test was done using Valentine-Weiggand method. The result shows that S. aureus having hemaglutinin has ability of adhesion with the average of 380 bakteria/20 sel while S. aureus that does not have hemaglutinin has the ability of adhesion with the average of 56 bakteri/20 cells.
