Students of IPB University have conducted an Evaluation of the Teaching and Learning Process (EPBM) to measure the effectiveness of academic activities during the Odd Semester of 2024/2025. The results of the EPBM, collected from students, were shared with all lecturers of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) IPB University during the event “Kick-off Meeting: Introduction to the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year,” led by Prof. Ni Wayan Kurniani Karja, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.

This event, held on January 22, 2025, at the SKHB IPB University Transformation Hall, has become a routine agenda at the beginning of each semester. The semester kick-off meeting plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning for the upcoming semester.

Every student is required to complete the EPBM twice per semester: before the midterm exam (UTS) and before the final exam (UAS). The evaluation encompasses assessments of each course and its respective lecturers. Students not only provide ratings but also have the opportunity to offer constructive suggestions for improving the teaching and learning process, covering aspects such as teaching methods, material delivery, the availability of learning resources, and the quality of learning facilities and infrastructure.

The EPBM ensures the anonymity of respondents, allowing students to freely express their opinions and suggestions. According to the EPBM results, the majority of courses and lecturers (99.78%) received ratings above 3 (1-4-point scale). Common feedback from students included suggestions for clearer and more interactive material delivery and for creating a more comfortable and communicative learning environment.

All student feedback has been forwarded to the respective course coordinators for evaluation and improvement in the future. SKHB highly appreciates the input provided by students and uses it as a reference for enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in the upcoming semester. (AP)
