The School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) at IPB University has conducted its first Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Competency Certification for support (non-academic) staff. This certification program, held from Wednesday to Friday (June 19-21, 2024), included both online and in-person sessions. The event was organized in collaboration with PT Kandel Sekeco International.
A total of 32 support staff members participated in this competency certification. The Vice Dean for Resources, Collaboration, and Development (SKP), Dr. drh. Andriyanto, M.Si, attended the opening ceremony and officially inaugurated the event.
“Thank you to all the participants who have taken part in this competency certification. I hope that the knowledge gained from this certification can be applied in each division as a preventive and control measure for emergencies in the future,” said Andriyanto.
The program was divided into two sessions. On Wednesday and Thursday, the participants attended online sessions covering general OHS topics. The first agenda of the certification involved a presentation on general OHS certification by BNSP, delivered by Daniel Stefanus, one of the guest speakers provided by PT Kandel Sekeco International. Tania Stephanie Rahendra from BNSP also joined as a speaker.
After the presentations, the activities included discussions, assignments, presentations, and hands-on group practice. Participants presented and discussed the results of their field practices in groups. On Friday, the agenda included a briefing on essay exam completion and interview sessions by the assessors, Daniel Stefanus and Tania Stephanie Rahendra from BNSP, followed by the closing ceremony.
