IPB University’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SVMBS) received a visit from Cendrawasih University’s One Health Collaborating Center (OHCC) to GHA-OHCC IPB University at SVMBS, Friday (17/02). The visit was received by the IPB GHA-OHCC Team Coordinator Prof. Dr. Drh. Srihadi Agungpriyono, Ph.D, PAvet(K), Dipl.ACCM, as well as IPB’s GHA-OHC management. The activity of this visit was to introduce the OHCC of Cendrawasih University (UNCEN) to GHA-OHCC IPB and exchange information about the activities of each OHCC. During the visit, the management of the Indonesia One Health University Network (INDOHUN) was also present.

The visit begins with a discussion of cross-sector collaboration and plans for multidisciplinary collaboration between doctors, veterinarians, ecologists and other professionals. This multidisciplinary collaboration is to implement the One Health approach. The activity continued with a tour to see the facilities available at SVMBS IPB University. The facilities visited included the Education and Services Laboratory which has been used for research on viruses in bats.

It is hoped that the OHCC visit of Cendrawasih University and INDOHUN at SVMBS IPB University will result in a form of activity that will promote One Health at the local and regional levels. This visit also ensures the continuity and implementation of the One Health approach by involving local governments, communities and local stakeholders. (AP)
